“Daly City is at heart of county’s foreclosure flurry”read the headline in the Examiner on March 31. The same day offers had to be presented for a small house at 43 Garden Grove Drive in Daly City. This two bedroom, one bath home showed lovely. The newer kitchen and inviting back yard were a big plus. Beautiful staging made the house look spacious even-though the square-footage was just over 900 sqft. Buyers who read the Examiner in the morning probably had a conservative approach. But if you had the means to offer more than the asking price, were comfortable with the reports on hand and could close escrow fast, you probably got the house. In the end there were 6 offers presented and we will know the purchase price next week. The moral of the story, know the market in the neighborhood you are purchasing in and don’t worry about newspaper headlines. www.examiner.com
